Historically, various parameters have been used to quantify external exposures. The following tables summarize some of the nomenclature reported by the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) Office of Compensation Analysis and Support (OCAS) technical basis documents. They are not comprehensive, so please refer to the original technical basis documents to obtain a complete list of historical external dosimetry quantities:
