Field Descriptions

A complete listing of air monitoring fields follows. Many of the fields appear only on the data entry forms. For example, reported activities exist on data entry forms, but only the derived (standardized) activities are displayed on data viewing forms.

Contaminant(s)

'Contaminant' stores the contaminant (radionuclide or type of radiation) or mixture measured in the air sample.

Time Pulled

'Time Pulled' stores the time that the air sample was removed from the sampling device (end of sample period).

Location

'Location' stores the location where the air sample was collected.

Sample Period

'Sample Period' stores the air sampling period as reported in the hard file (using the same units as in the hard file).

Period Unit

'Period Unit' stores the unit used in the hard file to report the sample period.

AMAD

'AMAD' stores the activity median aerodynamic diameter (AMAD) of the particles sampled.

Reported Concentration: Value

'Reported Concentration: Value' stores the activity concentration measured in the air sample as reported in the hard file (using the same units as in the hard file).

Reported Concentration: Uncert

'Reported Concentration: Uncert' stores the uncertainty in the air sample's activity concentration as reported in the hard file (using the same units as in the hard file).

Reported Concentration: Unit

'Reported Concentration: Unit' stores the unit used to report the activity concentration and uncertainty in the hard file.

Derived Values: Sample Period

'Derived Values: Sample Period' stores the standardized sample period, which is calculated by converting the reported sample period into the standardized sample period unit, days.

Derived Values: Conc

'Derived Values: Conc' stores the standardized activity concentration in the air sample, which is calculated by converting the reported concentration into the standardized concentration unit, pCi/cc or [number of] Maximum Permissible Concentrations (MPC).

Derived Values: Uncert

'Derived Values: Uncert' stores the uncertainty in the standardized activity concentration, which is calculated by propagating the reported uncertainty into the standardized concentration unit, pCi/cc or [number of] Maximum Permissible Concentrations (MPC).

Derived Values: Unit

'Derived Values: Unit' stores the standardized unit used to describe the derived activity concentration and uncertainty.

Comments

'Comments' contains narrative comments that provide additional information that is pertinent to the air monitoring record.

Source

'Source' contains the source of air monitoring data – document name and date – in order to expedite access to original hard file documents.

Initials

The 'Initials' field stores the initials of the person who added the air monitoring record to the database.

Entry Date

The 'Entry Date' field stores the date that the air monitoring record was added to the database.
